The hook rack was really easy to make. I used an extra piece of 8" wide board cut to 36" long. I painted it with leftover Behr Pumpkin Patch from his shelves.
I got some long stencil paper from Hobby Lobby and used some leftover chevron fabric to draw a pattern on the stencil. Then cut out the areas I was going to paint a different color. I got some white acrylic paint from HL as well and used a sponge to paint the chevron pattern on the rack. I had to go back in by hand a repaint the white to make it crisp because I like it like that. But you can also leave it uneven. That was hubby's preference but we can see who won :)
I got some fun hooks from HL and screwed them on to the board spaced evenly. Hubby installed it on the wall with the Anchor Hangman steel hanging system. We got ours from Lowes. It supports up to 200lbs - just in case Sawyer decided to hang on one. Doesn't it make the weird door look not as weird? Or maybe it still looks weird.
What do you think? It was a fun and easy project that used up some extras. Organization always makes me happy!

LOVE THIS!! The chevron is really awesome! Might I suggest you paint the access door the same color as the wall... this would draw less attention to it. We have an access panel in our bedroom and my husband argued it should stay white (trim color)... guess who won! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is Kind of simple hook rack. I am looking for some designed racks. In this I liked the paint design. but could you come with more pictures please.
ReplyDeleteCan I buy one of these?
